Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java. Each morning, in addition to horseback riding, a selection of activities is offered. The hardest thing you will need to do is choose!

Fishing
Whether you’re looking for your first trout, or you’re an experienced fly fisherman, you will find that a real adventure awaits you!. There are two stocked ponds, guided fishing on the ranch along two miles of the “Tumbling River”, and for the more adventuresome — several nearby mountain lakes. Fly-fishing clinics are offered and if you need extra supplies, equipment is available at the trading post. We also offer guided Orvis fishing off the ranch at the award winning Boxwood Gulch for an additional charge.

Hiking
Tumbling River Ranch is surrounded by Pike National Forest and there are two 14,000 ft. peaks practically in our back yard. We are 11 miles from the summit of Guanella Pass Road, from which we can hike in unspoiled wilderness to over 12,000 ft. in altitude. The views and the scenery are breathtaking. And the wild flowers are superb.

Trap Shooting
The ranch offers trap shooting during the week for those 12 and older. It is included in the rate and limited to 10 - 15 people.

Music & Evening Entertainment
During the peak season (June, July and August) there’ll be country western music and dancing, outdoor games, a staff talent show, campfires and hayrides! Our special Thursday night dinner comes complete with classical guitar music by campfire. And one night features a kids’ talent show and square dance.

Square Dance
Friday night a local caller will come and get your toes a tapping! Try the two step or do-si-do.

Swimming Pool>
Tumbling River Ranch features a heated outdoor pool with a view that is second to none! There is not a lifeguard on duty so all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Recreation Room
The rec room is located near the swimming pool. You’ll find Ping-Pong and a pool table there for some challenging games with your family or your new friends.

Yard Games
Volleyball and horseshoes are available should you find yourself with a few spare moments!

Hayride
Monday night jump on the hay wagon for a real western experience!

Hot Tub/Massage
There are two hot tubs! One is located by the pool and the other by the Pueblo house near the pond. Both are attractively situated under covered gazebos. There is also massage therapy throughout the week for sore muscles!

Rodeo
Saturday there will be a rodeo for both kids and adults to show off their skills. Compete in barrel racing, pole bending and more. The winners will even take ribbons home.

Ranch Animals
In addition to the horses, you will also find goats, sheep, ducks, geese and donkeys!

Sightseeing
During the week the ranch will pack the vans and head out to Georgetown, Fairplay and Breckenridge. Georgetown is a quaint old mining town with shops and museums. There is also an open-air narrow gauge railroad ride that is well worth the time. There will be a trip offered to historic Fairplay where you’ll find a great museum. For those shopping nuts, Breckenridge can’t be beat. The trips are included in the rate, along with museum entrance fees and the train ride.

Vehicle Tours
The mountains surrounding the ranch are filled with old mines and abandoned cabins. The routes of old stagecoaches and trains are now usable for our trips. Upon request, the ranch can schedule trips to explore these remote, historical areas.

Rafting
These trips are available on the Arkansas River where there are rapids equal to any. Children should be at least 8 years old. Transportation to and from the river as well as lunch will be provided by the ranch. There is an additional charge for this activity. The price is $65 per person. Rafting season is generally June through August and is dependent upon water conditions!

Golf
There are public and private courses in Evergreen (45 minutes away), and in Breckenridge (approximately 1 hour away). The ranch can help make arrangements, but you will need your own transportation.
