- Comments: It has been several years since Dana and I were at the ranch with our three youngest grandchildren. We all look back with fond and fun memories of our times at the ranch.
Taking grandkids on vacations is still our hobby and passion. We have created a blog about GrandTripping. You can access it at www.grandtripping.net. There is a post that mentions and recommends Tumbling River ranch. It is from one of your guests, who was at the ranch with her grandchildren a couple of years ago. Please take a look at our GrandTripping site and pass it on to any grandparents who might be interested in it.

- Comments: I simply cannot say enough good things about Tumbling River Ranch. We were 7 adults and 5 children, here tocelebrate my 75th and my wife's 65th birthdays. Megan and Scott are the most gracious and knowledgeable hosts and they have assembled the most caring, attentive, congenial and skilled staff. Our two youngest were totally happy all day with the wonderful kids staff. As for the adults, aunt, parents and grandparents — they are ready to make this vacation an almost annual event. The wranglers were wonderful on and off the trail. All the rides were great and the overnight ride was a spectacular occasion. The family rock-climbing day was a real hit.
The range of activities was terrific for both the adults and the kids — who we barely saw except at breakfast and most dinners. Speaking or which, we could not have enjoyed better meals. Again, the special diets of our family (no red meat, gluten free, lots of veggies, etc) were met seamlessly amidst a variety of well prepared, tasty and healthy meals including picnics and on the well planned overnight ride.
We stayed in the 7 bedrooms at the Pueblo. What a wonderful experience that was! The family could spread out in the spacious living room, play pool in the upstairs game room, and enjoy our meals in the large dining room. Then after a long ride or at the end of the evening, the adults would wander off to the Pueblo's own hot tub under the trees. I know that I have left out other features to rave about, but you get the point — heaven on earth with horses!

- Comments: Thank you very much for your hospitality. Coming to the ranch in 2010 was a great and unique experience. Kid's had been talking about it for the whole last year. We didn't have to think long before we booked again for August 2011. Coming to the same place twice in a row is tricky. Great memories are still alive, but so many things can be different: people, weather, the group of guests. We have a saying in Russia: "You cannot step twice into the same river". But when we got out of the van at the ranch it was like coming back home, because you both go out of your way to make people feel welcomed and at home. All of our friends have seen the pictures; everyone knows the name Tumbling River Ranch; everyone knows that Stephanie misses Ranger dearly. Our hike up the Flag mountain...when I thought that I was the most unfit person! And our trip to the Hank's Cathedral 3.5 hours away and above the treeline.
Stephanie is learning to play Red River Valley on the piano and sing... for the talent show.
See you next August.
Your Russian guests

- Comments: We were there Labor Day weekend with the wedding. My little girl, Callie feel in love with Shiloh and one of your wranglers, Lindsay. Thanks again for such a great weekend. TRR has the best staff ever. Everyone was nice and so kind. We hope to come back when our 3 kids are older. Thanks again.

- Comments: We had a wonderful week at Tumbling River Ranch! Our four grandchildren told us over and over what a great time they were having and that they wanted to come back again next summer. Your very active and well organized childrens program kept them busy having fun all week long. Marge and I also enjoyed some free time to ride the horses up the forest and mountain trails and especially along Geneva Creek. As a family we enjoyed the cookouts in the mountain meadows and the games in the arena. We have gone to three other Colorado ranches before, and none of them were as well run and as much fun as Tumbling River, so we keep coming back year after year!!

- Comments: Our time at Tumbling River Ranch was amazing! It was definitely the perfect choice for our family. We had all the comforts of a nice hotel, while still feeling like we were really a part of life on the ranch. The food was phenomenal and the staff was amazing! Seriously, I do not know how you have found such an engaging, considerate, interesting, and all-around fun group of people! We loved everyone there! From the wait staff to the wranglers and kids counselors, every time I met someone, I looked forward to speaking with them again. I cannot thank you enough for everything you and your staff did specifically for our family. We loved it!

- Comments: Traveling out west and staying at a dude ranch has long been on my "to do" list. I did my research before booking and found that TRR consistently had high ratings and one of the best reputations. The best thing I can say to add to the numerous positive comments already made is this: I cannot think of a negative thing to say about the whole experience. The ranch, the staff, the activities, the food (Shazam!)... all top notch. These people care about their jobs and your family's experience and it shows. Thanks again for helping me "renew and recharge".

- Comments: My Visit to TRR 1968
I am an “old” alumni of TRR, having visited in August, 1968. I understand that this predates your involvement with the ranch. We have recently enjoyed celebrating Mom’s 90th birthday. Involved in her celebration was a slideshow, comprised of about 250 photos taken over a sixty-year span. Without exception, the photos that garnered the most comments were those taken during that stay.
This, of course, prompted us to investigate whether the ranch was still in operation. Thanks to the Internet, it was pretty easy to find.
My brothers and I have all looked into your website and are absolutely delighted to find that the Tumbling River experience seems as vibrant and viable as ever. We remember the guest rodeo (I lost a stirrup in the barrel race!), dinners in the Coors House, the trail rides and a picnic lunch on the Upper Pasture, and the genuine feel of having had “the time of our lives”. In our reminiscing, stories have taken on a new life, but there is no doubting the fondness for the positive experiences a bunch of “city kids from Wisconsin” had in the Wild West.
I guess the point of this is to say “Thank You” for providing the
services you do in one of the truly most beautiful surroundings
available. If my health were better, I guarantee that I’d be on your
guest list! You have the opportunity — especially seeing the wide range of family-based activities — to be such a positive influence on the experiences, lives, and memories of your guests. Stories will be shared for years, passed between generations and will undoubtedly provide smiles for decades.

- Comments: Wow! I cannot tell you how much my husband and I enjoyed reading your newsletter! It brightened our day today. We live in Greenville, SC and as he was shoveling the ice from the BIG winter storm (for us) I read your newsletter. We both laughed and look forward to bringing our 2 boys out for a vacation one day! The boys, Wright (3) and Whitt (4 months,) will hopefully love it as much as I did when I worked one summer with the two of you. It feels like it was yesterday, but I realize looking at Laney’s age that it was over 10 years now…scary! Hope that things go extremely well for you this coming season!

- Comments: Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our week at TRR. All the staff were friendly, courteous and willing. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was excellent – we especially enjoyed the cook-outs. Our main challenge was the riding as we’d not ridden before but even we were loping after a couple of days. It was so nice that you had plenty of other activities too, although the hike was hard work with the air being in such short supply!
The evening entertainment was superb, my favourite was Randall but Jojo thought the Square dancing was the best. All in all it was perfect, the scenery, the homely cabins and the fact that there was no outside world.
We all hope to return some day, such a shame you are so far away. Would you consider moving to England???

- Comments: Thank you to Tumbling River Ranch for a PERFECT family reunion and vacation. We loved the outdoor and western activities for all of our 16 family members (ages ranging from 11 to 81 yrs. old), the delicious food, the attentive staff and the beautiful surroundings. This is why we have been to your ranch three times. It’s a perfect place for a memorable vacation.

- Comments: Our week at TRR was one of the best ever. From the gorgeous mountain setting to the cozy cabins, the gourmet food and boot scootin’, the horseback riding and hiking and most of all the wonderful hospitality — we couldn't have asked for a more exciting adventure. The rodeo was an experience we will never forget and we’ve already been practicing for next year›s talent show. We can see why families of all ages keep coming back for more.

- Comments: The C. gang had the time of their lives. I do not think I have ever seen my grandchildren so happy and free. Caroline, Bridget and Lindsey cannot stop talking about the new friends they made at the ranch...their horses, dogs, chickens & donkeys included. I have to say that you run a fabulous place, it exceeded our expectations. I know you have heard it a million times, but you and your entire staff were fantastic...warm, caring, fun & professional. We enjoyed every interaction with each and everyone of you on a daily basis. Your location in the Rockies is stunning.... I will never forget the scenery on our rides and hikes. Compliments to the chef...the food was superb, from our candlelight dinner to lunch on the trail. My favorite...the knock on the cabin door in the morning, a smiling face and a pot of hot coffee. Perfect!
Please count The C's as one of your biggest fans. We highly recommend TRR.

Jenny enjoyed the beautiful hikes, Caitlin loved making new friends and loved the rock-climbing, and Jim just wanted to be a cowboy! Once again, thanks to all of your team for making our ranch experience such fun.

- Comments: Our week at TRR was the best vacation of our lives. That includes any and all trips to Europe, cruises to Alaska, Tahiti, New England and many other places, and Disney World combo cruise/land family trips.
To pinpoint what makes your ranch so special is not easy. So much of it is the good feeling that is created by everyone at the ranch and so well imparted to your guests. At no time is anyone ever left standing around saying “what happens now?”
Your organization of people (guests as well as staff), scheduling of events, following up on scheduled events, arranging extra curricular activities, transporting guests all over your ranch, evening activities (with variety!), all the cookouts and poolside lunches, rides and lunch on mountain tops, all of the excellent meals with such an enormous variety of food, and on and on and on, are only a few of the examples of what makes your ranch great.
Your staff is exceptional. Never an unhappy face and all the staff always checking to see what they can do for you. They were all wonderful and very talented.
The way you and Scott handle everything brings my thoughts back to the two of you, and I credit “fine leadership."
All of our family members came away from TRR with nothing but the fondest of memories, with no one wanting to leave. We are all jealous of your guests this week who have taken our places.
Your final night's entertainment was the perfect ending to an absolutely PERFECT week for all of the R. Family. So much so that all of the family has asked us about returning next year!

- Comments: My wife and I and our four grandchildren, ages 8 to 18, had a wonderful time once again at your Tumbling River Ranch. We have been to three other ranches in the past years but none of them were as much fun as yours. Your childen's program, the horses, the food, the beautiful rides and cookouts are the best. The young people that you hire to work at the ranch somehow anticipated our needs and were very nice with a smile on their faces. They seemed to enjoy being at the ranch even as much as the guests did. All of our grandkids, my wife and I had a great time and we will surely come again next year. Thank you.

- Comments: The Tumbling River Ranch reminds me of John Denver's song Rocky Mountain High. “Coming home to a place he’d never been before”. I really felt so at home at the ranch and I’ve never been anywhere in the Rocky Mountains before. The scenery and setting of the ranch is spectacular! I loved the horses, burros, dogs and all the other critters. The river and ponds. The architecture of the historic buildings and the antique furnishings. I think the warmth and care you and your staff show to your guests is really exceptional and the food was awesomely wonderful!!!
We all miss the Tumbling River and can’t wait to return.
Thanks for the best wedding/reunion/vacation I’ve ever experienced.
