  • Comments: Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our week at TRR. All the staff were - friendly, courteous and willing. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was excellent – we especially enjoyed the cook-outs. Our main challenge was the riding as we’d not ridden before but even we were loping after a couple of days. It was so nice that you had plenty of other activities too, although the hike was hard work with the air being in such short supply!

The evening entertainment was superb, my favourite was Randall but Jojo thought the Square dancing was the best. All in all it was perfect, the scenery, the homely cabins and the fact that there was no outside world.

We all hope to return some day, such a shame you are so far away. Would you consider moving to England???

  • Comments: Thank you to Tumbling River Ranch for a PERFECT family reunion and vacation. We loved the outdoor and western activities for all of our 16 family members (ages ranging from 11 to 81 yrs. old), the delicious food, the attentive staff and the beautiful surroundings. This is why we have been to your ranch three times. It’s a perfect place for a memorable vacation.

  • Comments: Our week at TRR was one of the best ever. From the gorgeous mountain setting to the cozy cabins, the gourmet food and boot scootin’, the horseback riding and hiking and most of all the wonderful hospitality — we couldn't have asked for a more exciting adventure. The rodeo was an experience we will never forget and we’ve already been practicing for next year›s talent show. We can see why families of all ages keep coming back for more.

  • Comments: The C. gang had the time of their lives. I do not think I have ever seen my grandchildren so happy and free. Caroline, Bridget and Lindsey cannot stop talking about the new friends they made at the ranch...their horses, dogs, chickens & donkeys included. I have to say that you run a fabulous place, it exceeded our expectations. I know you have heard it a million times, but you and your entire staff were fantastic...warm, caring, fun & professional. We enjoyed every interaction with each and everyone of you on a daily basis. Your location in the Rockies is stunning.... I will never forget the scenery on our rides and hikes. Compliments to the chef...the food was superb, from our candlelight dinner to lunch on the trail. My favorite...the knock on the cabin door in the morning, a smiling face and a pot of hot coffee. Perfect!

Please count The C's as one of your biggest fans. We highly recommend TRR.

  • Comments: We had a wonderful vacation at TRR and need to thank you all for looking after us so well, and showing us a great time. Jenny enjoyed the beautiful hikes, Caitlin loved making new friends and loved the rock-climbing, and Jim just wanted to be a cowboy! Once again, thanks to all of your team for making our ranch experience such fun.

  • Comments: Our week at TRR was the best vacation of our lives. That includes any and all trips to Europe, cruises to Alaska, Tahiti, New England and many other places, and Disney World combo cruise/land family trips.

To pinpoint what makes your ranch so special is not easy. So much of it is the good feeling that is created by everyone at the ranch and so well imparted to your guests. At no time is anyone ever left standing around saying “what happens now?”

Your organization of people (guests as well as staff), scheduling of events, following up on scheduled events, arranging extra curricular activities, transporting guests all over your ranch, evening activities (with variety!), all the cookouts and poolside lunches, rides and lunch on mountain tops, all of the excellent meals with such an enormous variety of food, and on and on and on, are only a few of the examples of what makes your ranch great.

Your staff is exceptional. Never an unhappy face and all the staff always checking to see what they can do for you. They were all wonderful and very talented.

The way you and Scott handle everything brings my thoughts back to the two of you, and I credit “fine leadership."

All of our family members came away from TRR with nothing but the fondest of memories, with no one wanting to leave. We are all jealous of your guests this week who have taken our places.

Your final night's entertainment was the perfect ending to an absolutely PERFECT week for all of the R. Family. So much so that all of the family has asked us about returning next year!

  • Comments: My wife and I and our four grandchildren, ages 8 to 18, had a wonderful time once again at your Tumbling River Ranch. We have been to three other ranches in the past years but none of them were as much fun as yours. Your childen's program, the horses, the food, the beautiful rides and cookouts are the best. The young people that you hire to work at the ranch somehow anticipated our needs and were very nice with a smile on their faces. They seemed to enjoy being at the ranch even as much as the guests did. All of our grandkids, my wife and I had a great time and we will surely come again next year. Thank you.

  • Comments: The Tumbling River Ranch reminds me of John Denver's song Rocky Mountain High. “Coming home to a place he’d never been before”. I really felt so at home at the ranch and I’ve never been anywhere in the Rocky Mountains before. The scenery and setting of the ranch is spectacular! I loved the horses, burros, dogs and all the other critters. The river and ponds. The architecture of the historic buildings and the antique furnishings. I think the warmth and care you and your staff show to your guests is really exceptional and the food was awesomely wonderful!!!

We all miss the Tumbling River and can’t wait to return.

Thanks for the best wedding/reunion/vacation I’ve ever experienced.

  • Comments: We wanted to thank you very much for a great time at your ranch. We have been to a few ranches and found yours to be the best run one we have seen. Your staff was excellent. Everyone we came in contact with was nice, pleasant and wanting to help out. Reva was superb. Maggie really went out of her way to help us with our various eating problems. We appreciate that a great deal.

Laura loved the riding. I greatly appreciated that you actually had guided hikes and that Scott went on them. Every other ranch we have been to says they have them, but somehow, in the end, it never happens. We really loved the room. The view from there was amazing!

  • Comments: We would like to thank you again for our wonderful holiday at Tumbling River Ranch this summer. We had a great time and enjoyed every minute of it. We loved the beautiful location, the horseback riding (our first time!) and all the other activities including the kids and teens programs, the overnight trip, the rafting, square dancing, the talent show, clay shooting, fly fishing etc. etc., and of course the delicious food and picnics.

Above all we will remember your hospitality and the very kind and helpful TRR staff. It is a long flight from The Netherlands to Colorado, but it’s definitely worth it! This was an all-American experience for us as Europeans, which has exceeded our expectations. We cherish our memories and we definitely want to come back.

  • Comments: What does Tumbling River Ranch mean to us? An amazing welcome, confidence-boosting instruction and wonderful horses — all set in scenery that takes your breath away. We found it the perfect holiday for a family of novice riders wanting a real American experience — can’t recommend it enough.

  • Comments: We had an outstanding week at Tumbling River with our three grandsons. Our expectations were truly exceeded in every detail of the week. I don’t know how you recruit and train your outstanding staff but they turned a very good week into an outstanding family adventure that we will treasure always. I did not know how two seven year olds and a nine year old, none of whom had been around animals, would react. They quickly felt like part of the ranch family and did not want to leave, especially their cowboy boots. Jackson wanted to buy Beaver but his dad assured him their yard was not large enough to keep a horse.

We also have two younger grandsons who now want the same adventure, and we just found out we are going to have a granddaughter in February. So, we see more Tumbling River adventures in our future. The problem will be that their parents won't want to stay at home for the next one!

  • Comments: I was at your ranch recently as a guest, it was my first experience at a ranch such as yours, and it was a truly memorable experience. The facilities were first rate, the staff was the best and what more can you say about the Colorado Rockies? The staff was extremely accommodating and went out of their way on every occasion to make it memorable. Thanks for the memory!

  • Comments: To anyone thinking of vacationing at Tumbling River Ranch, I have but one word to say to you — GO!!! We have taken our family there 3 years in a row now (we number anywhere from 22-35) and everyone enjoys every minute of our week there. Megan and Scott are great hosts, the staff is outstanding, the food is the best (no one ever misses a meal). Homemade rolls, desserts, breads, etc are an important part of our vacation. The activities are horseback riding, shooting, fishing, swimming and on and on. We have been having family vacations for 25 years and Tumbling River is the first place the grandchildren have participated in the programs headed up by the counselors. They love the counselors and the activities that they plan — the whole experience is a 10 plus. If you decide to go, you’ll probably see us there. Hats off to Scott and Megan for their hospitality and making everyone feel at home at their home.

  • Comments: What a wonderful week we had! We rode horses, went white water rafting, slept under the stars, took walks, enjoyed wonderful meals and took in the magnificent scenery. But the favorite part of our stay at Tumbling River was the people we met. We had fun with the other guests and we loved the warmth and enthusiam of the whole staff. By the second day we were all on first name basis and we felt that we were a part of a large, loving family. Tumbling River is a unique experience, and we can't wait to return. You have created a special little place on earth.

  • Comments: I just put a little note in the mail to express our appreciation for the very unique and special place you have created at Tumbling River Ranch.

Our motivation for coming was based on our desire to drop in on our daughter's life for a week. We had been to a dude ranch when the girls were younger, but thought our days of this style of family vacation were behind us. Little did we know that this would be one of the most fun family vacations we have ever had!

Starting with our accommodations...none of the small touches were wasted on me! I loved EVERYTHING about our rooms in the Ranch House...from the books on the shelves to the small “ranch” details to the working fireplaces to your choice of quilts on the beds — everything!

And then there was the food! I never thought that “ranch food” could be so irresistible. By mid-week I gave up all good intentions to avoid the extras...everything was just too delicious. It seemed justified, since we worked up an appetite for every meal with all the amazing activities at hand.

Which brings me to the array of new experiences in the offing. I expected to do some horseback riding, but never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ride in a RODEO!!!!!! Trap shooting was another new one for me, the hiking was fabulous, fly-fishing an option I wish I had taken, and best of all was our overnight in the back country-- spectacular!!!!! The evening activities were a bonus--we danced until the bitter end at the Square Dance and I sat in amazement as the entire staff put on a show at the Hootenanny--who would have guessed that there was so much talent amongst those young people (and Scott!). The special entertainment at the campfire and talent night was an extra bonus.

And I cannot say enough about your staff — and not just because I know one of them intimately! They all had that special gift of relating to people and making us all feel comfortable and cared for. There was a genuine warmth about all of them, an authenticity and individuality that was so fun and refreshing.

And of course the two of you...Megan, with a newborn and two 'young- uns'...you amaze me!!! And Scott was ubiquitous!! Have you two cloned yourselves or something?! All the warmth and real caring starts at the top and that is so obvious. By the time I left, I felt like I had joined one big wonderful family.

Thank you for the time of our lives!! The memories will live on and grow sweeter with time. You have made a real difference in our lives.

  • Comments: Having thought our trip to TRR 23 years ago with our daughters 7 and 13 was the best ever, I decided to challenge the thought. I now have 2 sons-in-law who definitely have their own opinions. The 7 of us (yes there was a 1yr old grandson) made our reservations and off we went. My wife and I live in Miami, one daughter in Denver and the other in San Rafael, CA. so we can't get together often. This had to be right and it was perfect. Your staff is as well trained as any I have encountered. They made the week. The food, what can I say....better than a cruise ship. The horses, riding and other activities (and the weather) were perfect. I think we now have a multi-generational ownership in saying it was our best vacation.

  • Comments: I was just thinking that my first summer at Tumbling River Ranch was twenty years ago. Hard to believe! I have such great memories of you, your family, and the staff/guests. TRR really shaped my life — did you know I was pre-law prior to coming to TRR? Being a children’s counselor changed the whole course of my life — hey, go figure? I'm a children's counselor again!

You and Scott have made so many improvements but have kept the experiences the same — enriching/bonding/memory making!

We have very fond memories of our trip to Tumbling River and still feel we will come back and visit you one of these years. It was a great time, great food, wonderful people and the best guest ranch experience we ever had. We have been to some other great places for the scenery, but nothing can compare with your attention to detail!
