At Tumbling River Ranch, our kids program is our major focus. Well known as the premier kids ranch in Colorado, we not only focus on the interests of the kids, but we relish the opportunity to introduce the kids to the western lifestyle and western ideas (no TV & movies here). Your kids will leave TRR with memories for years to come.
Our flexible program gives families time together as well as allowing kids to have adventures of their own. Parents can be assured that infants, kids and teens will be well entertained.
Counselors are ready after breakfast with exciting programs for all children 3 years and over. The programs continue through lunch and throughout the afternoon. There are separate activities for kids aged 3 to 5, 6 to 11, and for teens. The programs are entirely optional but they’re a lot of fun and enable parents to have more freedom. We also offer full nanny programs for children under 3.
For kids under 6, we have pony rides. Those 6 and over may go on the trail rides. Kids any age may accompany their parents on vehicle trips.
The programs include riding, hiking, fishing, swimming, nature hikes, rodeo practice, games, scavenger hunts, hay rides, kids overnight campouts, and play in our fort & teepee.
How many times have you heard your teens groan at the thought of going on vacation with parents? Well, at TRR teens have the best of both worlds. The teens can participate in ALL activities. They can go on all the rides (loping, overnight pack-trip), they can try outdoor activities like rock climbing, fly-fishing and trap shooting for the first time. And they get to hang out with fun, excited and COOL teen counselors who are just staring college. Our teen counselors know just when to add an outdoor sports game, throw in another horse clinic or just go to the arena with water balloons. The teen group at Tumbling River seems to be the one to bug the parents into a return stay at Tumbling River more than any other group. Lots of ranches say they have programs and things to do for teens, but at TRR, your teens will really “feel” included and will completely enjoy all the activities we have just for their group. The programs are entirely optional but they’re a lot of fun and enable parents to have more freedom.
Some of the teen group highlights: rock climbing (not on a wall either), teen loping brunch ride, rafting (they love riding in the “teen van”), the overnight pack trip, fly-fishing clinics, teen cookout and capture the flag and all the private arena clinics and horse games.
The ranch offers full-time baby-sitting services for an additional charge.
