The Gordon’s

What are Jim and Mary Dale Gordon up to these days?
After nearly 20 years of greeting guests at Tumbling River Ranch as owners and hosts, not to mention raising a family along the way, Jim and Mary Dale are happily living in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They have not retired there…they are busier than ever!

Mary Dale is the volunteer queen of Santa Fe with work at the Wheelwright Museum, Kitchen Angels, and Holy Faith Episcopal Church, just to mention a few.

jim-in-gun-roomJim has turned his extensive collection of firearms, started when he was in his teens, into a full, fledged history/arms museum at an old WPA schoolhouse in Glorieta, New Mexico that he purchased in…the 1990′s!

Jim is constantly adding to the museum which has become a “must see” for anyone interested in the history of the West, firearms, knives, uniforms, maps, books, Spanish Colonial artifacts, Civil War items…well, you get the idea.

jim-reviewingA new building on the property houses a fabulous collection of old wagons from prairie schooner to doctor’s rig.

In between hosting visitors to Casa Escuela Museum and adding to the collections, Jim has written and published three series of books. To see more about these books, hover your mouse over one of the links and watch the slide show:

  • 2 volume set “Winchester’s Model 1873″ sold out
  • 3 volume set “Great Gunmakers for the Early West” $295
  • and now, “Great Knife Makers for the Early West” $85

jim-and-friendsThese beautiful books feature full color photographs on every page and are sought after by collectors of arms of the old West. Call Jim to order the books.

wagonIf you’re ever in the Santa Fe area, be sure to get in touch. Jim and Mary Dale love to reminisce with Tumbling River guests and share their new life with friends, new and old.
